Past few months we struggle with our personal growth in leadership skills; I remember sometime ago, two Korean pastors from Harvest Rock Church prayed for me saying that I am going to sail to the deep water. I had some idea what they meant by that, but wasn't quite sure what exactly would happen to me anyway. God surely has His plan in my life. I started to face many personal challenges in pastoring this church. Little did I know, I am sailing to the deep water but I am not very skilled in managing this boat yet. God, You are my guide and help in sailing out to the deep water; hear my cry!
In one of our cell groups, this cell leader came to me asking how to better leader the cell group. I suggested this leader to get to know her cell members first before making any moves. She struggled with her cell group, not sure of what to do with everyone there; thank Jesus that now she found a better solution to her stuggle.
3 simple and major keys to better lead your cell group (of course there are many minor ones).
1. Knowing your sheep before you start managing/shepherding them.
2. Positioning them in the right spots. Max out their potentials!
3. Enjoying success with them.
Maybe your cell memebers are less active, bring them to minister to others. Maybe your cell memebers are more talkative, equip them to teach and share Jesus. We, as cell leaders, won't be frustrated once we find out to whom we are ministering. Again I reminded myself the lesson of leadership based on the discussion with this cell leader.
Sail to the deep water.
